The Environment Protection Association has launched the "Women's Guide to Climate Action and Shared Responsibility"..

The Kuwait Environment Protection Society launched on Saturday the book "Women's Guide to Climate Action and Shared Responsibility", marking a significant step that reflects civil society's commitment to empowering women and enhancing their role in addressing the climate change crisis.

In a press statement, the Society's Secretary General and book supervisor Jenan Behzad explained that this guide is the first of its kind in the region, providing a comprehensive overview of women's role in environmental work. It combines scientific information, social analysis, and pioneering Arab women's experiences in climate and sustainable development.

Behzad noted that the guide was developed with contributions from 11 Arab female writers from Kuwait, Egypt, Bahrain, UAE, Tunisia, Lebanon, and Iraq. The five-chapter publication covers several key themes, including climate change impacts on women, environmental and social responsibility, Arab women's experiences in leading climate action, and practical guidelines for implementing sustainability concepts at home.

The Society aims through this publication to enrich Kuwaiti and Arab environmental libraries with knowledge content that reflects climate challenges from a gender perspective and encourages women to assume their roles as essential partners in environmental protection.

Behzad emphasized that women are key actors in innovating solutions and leading transitions toward a sustainable future, drawing on their pioneering roles within families and across various social and political spheres with significant influence.

She mentioned that this book resulted from recommendations of a workshop titled "Women Between Climate Change and Sustainable Development", organized by the Society in collaboration with the National Family Security Association (Ruwasi).
