The death toll from the floods in Texas has risen to 50, including 15 children..

The American news network CNN reported, citing state officials, that at least 43 confirmed fatalities have been recorded in Kerr County, while three deaths were reported in Burnet County and four others in Travis County, noting that among the victims were 15 children.

Local authorities in the state have conducted more than 160 aerial rescue operations, saving 850 people as of Saturday.

Meanwhile, Texas Governor Greg Abbott told reporters that emergency and rescue teams are working around the clock to search for survivors, particularly as floodwaters recede in some areas of the state. This includes 27 missing individuals from the Mystic Girls’ Summer Camp in Kerr County.

Earlier, the National Weather Service (NWS) had issued a flash flood emergency for parts of Kerr County, Texas, following torrential rains of up to 30 centimeters (12 inches).

Rescue teams deployed 14 helicopters and dozens of drones over the area to carry out operations amid floating debris, submerged trees, and vehicles swept away by the floodwaters.
