Minister of State for Communications Affairs Omar Al-Omar affirmed on Saturday that the anniversary of the brutal Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on August 2nd embodies in the conscience of Kuwaitis the values of steadfastness and unity, reflecting the Kuwaiti people's commitment to their legitimacy and leadership in confronting the brutal aggression.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) marking the 35th anniversary of the invasion, Minister Al-Omar said this cherished national anniversary remains an occasion to reflect on the strength of Kuwaiti resolve, the solidarity of all segments of Kuwaiti society, and the profound gratitude for the sacrifices of martyrs, resistance fighters, prisoners, and missing persons who gave their lives defending the nation and its sovereignty.

He added: "Commemorating this occasion renews our pledge to safeguard Kuwait's security and stability, reinforces national belonging, and motivates us to continue working towards comprehensive development under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah - may God protect and preserve him - and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah - may God protect him."

Minister Al-Omar recalled the honorable national role played by employees of the Ministry of Communications during the invasion period, as they continued performing their vital duties despite difficult circumstances and contributed to maintaining national communication networks, demonstrating their commitment and responsibility toward their nation during the most trying times.
