The Iranian President arrives in Islamabad on an official visit to Pakistan..

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, on Saturday for an official visit to the neighboring country. The visit aims to discuss regional developments, bilateral trade, energy cooperation, and strengthening mechanisms for consultation and coordination between the two nations.

Upon his arrival at Islamabad's Nur Khan Air Base from Lahore—where he began his trip by visiting the mausoleum of Pakistan's national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal—President Pezeshkian was received by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The Iranian president is accompanied by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and a high-level delegation.

In a statement, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry noted that preparatory talks were held between Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Iranian counterpart Araghchi on the sidelines of the visit. These discussions covered key issues to be addressed at the leadership level, including regional developments, bilateral trade, energy cooperation, and enhanced consultation mechanisms.

The ministry added that both countries' leaders reaffirmed their "commitment to deepening the historic fraternal ties between Pakistan and Iran, emphasizing the importance of sustained dialogue and expanded cooperation in economic, security, and people-to-people exchanges."
