Four personnel died when a Zlin helicopter belonging to the Civil Protection Air Unit crashed during a training exercise at Ferhat Abbas Airport in the northeastern province of Jijel, authorities confirmed.

In an official statement, the Civil Protection agency reported:
"The accident resulted in the deaths of four individuals who were performing their professional duties during a routine training mission."

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune sent condolences to the victims' families and Civil Protection personnel, expressing profound sorrow over the incident.
