Apple has officially clarified that the scratches or marks noticed by visitors on the models displayed for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in its stores are not due to a design defect, but to the MagSafe chargers displayed in stores.
The company stated in official statements to 9to5Mac, a technical website specialized in the company's affairs, that these marks are not actual scratches, but are caused by the transfer of some materials from the charging bases to the phone's body, stressing that they can be removed through cleaning.
Apple added that it is working to address this issue in its stores, noting that other devices such as the iPhone 16 may be affected for the same reason.
With the start of sales of the iPhone 17 series, complaints emerged that some versions, especially the iPhone 17 Pro in blue and the iPhone Air in black, were scratched early on.
