Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) plans to double its oil transport capacity to the port of Fujairah by 2027 through the ongoing West East 1 pipeline project, a move aimed at enhancing the flexibility of its exports and meeting global energy demand, according to a statement issued by the Abu Dhabi Media Office on Friday.

The company is currently implementing the project, and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has directed that its completion be accelerated as the company begins a new phase.

This comes after the Strait of Hormuz crisis escalated, with tanker traffic effectively halted in the vital waterway.
