According to a new report, Sony is dissatisfied with the number of PS5 games released by some of its major studios this generation, most notably Naughty Dog and Bungie, due to unprecedentedly high development costs and lengthy production periods.
This information comes from journalist Jason Schreier, who indicated that Sony had expected more output from its studios, especially after the massive investments it made in major game projects and live gaming services.
The report explained that Naughty Dog has become a prime example of the crisis facing the modern AAA game industry. During the PS3 and PS4 eras, studios released games at a faster pace, such as the Uncharted series and The Last of Us, before the release rate slowed significantly during the PS5 generation.
