Amazon is nearing the launch of its own satellite internet service, Amazon LEO, putting it in direct competition with SpaceX's Starlink. Chris Weber, vice president of Amazon's LEO project, announced that the company has already deployed more than 390 satellites in low Earth orbit, a number he says is sufficient to provide continuous coverage in targeted areas during the first phase.
