The Criminal Security Affairs Sector, represented by the Arab and International Criminal Police Department (Interpol), was able to arrest an Egyptian resident working as a security guard in a government hospital, and a female citizen working in the same hospital, in the act of selling and using counterfeit government stamps and seizing the amounts of fees due to the state.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, the search and investigation resulted in the arrest of the first suspect and the discovery in his possession of a number of forged government stamps. Upon investigation, he led the authorities to the second suspect, who was arrested and found in possession of similar stamps. It was also documented that she had completed a transaction using a forged government stamp in exchange for money.

The accused admitted to exploiting the nature of her work to achieve financial gain, by passing transactions using forged government stamps, keeping the original stamps and reusing them in other transactions, in addition to removing previously used stamps from stored transactions and reusing them.

The accused and the seized items were referred to the competent authority to take the necessary legal measures against them.
