TGS 2026 cancelled its fifth and final in-person event on September 21 after weather forecasts warned of strong winds and heavy rain due to Typhoon Dujuan, also known as Typhoon No. 25. Organizer CESA explained that the cancellation was a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of visitors, exhibitors, and staff as they left the Makuhari Messe. The fourth day of events had proceeded as scheduled on September 20, meaning the exhibition concluded with four in-person days instead of the planned five, despite the 30th anniversary edition being intended to be the first five-day event.
