Two hundred and thirty-three government entities have completed the migration of their databases to the central government cloud computing platform, Deem Cloud, which enables and assists government entities to securely host, manage, and govern their data, according to Saeed Al-Shahrani, the official spokesperson for the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), as reported to Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper.

Deem Cloud, a government cloud computing platform launched in 2018, provides cloud services to all governmental and semi-governmental entities, contributing to improved financial spending and cost savings. It is considered one of the most successful models for implementing the government's IT spending efficiency policy in Saudi Arabia.

The central government cloud computing platform aims to achieve several key objectives, including unifying infrastructure by integrating and eliminating hundreds of individual and isolated data centers belonging to government entities. It provides servers as infrastructure, in addition to software such as DEM files, DEM meetings, and email. Maximizing resource utilization is another objective of the platform, achieved through a shift to a pay-as-you-go model for cloud services, thus preventing the financial waste associated with purchasing excess technology assets.
