The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned on Monday the Israeli occupation's bombing of Al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza, describing it as both a war crime and a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
In its statement, the OIC warned of the imminent collapse of Gaza's healthcare system due to the direct targeting of hospitals, power outages, and depletion of medicines and fuel needed to operate generators - all of which portend an impending humanitarian catastrophe.
The Islamic body renewed its call for the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to urgently intervene to enforce a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of medical supplies, relief aid, humanitarian assistance, and basic necessities to Gaza.
This comes after Israeli occupation aircraft bombed the Baptist Hospital at dawn yesterday with two missiles, destroying the reception area, emergency department, laboratories, pharmacy, ambulance building, and radiology department.
