Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis held a phone conversation on Sunday to discuss the latest developments in the ongoing Oman-mediated Iran-US negotiations, as well as bilateral relations between their countries.
According to Iran's official news agency, Araghchi praised Switzerland's "valuable role" in the nuclear negotiations that led to the 2015 agreement. For his part, Cassis expressed satisfaction with the current talks and reiterated Switzerland's readiness to provide any necessary assistance in this regard.
Araghchi announced on Saturday that the Iran-US negotiations "are moving forward," with technical expert-level discussions scheduled for Wednesday in Muscat, followed by a third round of talks between the two sides next Saturday.
Rome hosted the second round of talks between Washington and Tehran on Saturday, with the participation of Araghchi and US Special Envoy for Iran Robert Malley.
