In an official statement, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sand, the ministry's spokesperson, confirmed that the procedure was performed by a national surgical team at Salman Al-Dabbous Cardiac Center under the leadership of cardiac surgery consultant Professor Riyadh Al-Tarzi. He described this achievement as a continuation of the ministry's efforts to build an integrated healthcare system focused on developing organ transplant programs and advancing specialized cardiac surgery.

He reiterated the ministry's commitment to investing in human capital, supporting specialized medical fields, and fostering an environment that promotes excellence—all of which contribute to Kuwait's vision of becoming a leading regional medical center with sustainable healthcare development.
In a separate statement, Professor Al-Tarzi revealed that the transplant was performed on a university student suffering from acute heart failure. "Thankfully, the procedure was successful," he said, noting that the patient is now progressing smoothly toward full recovery under close medical supervision and comprehensive care.
