Kuwait's Fatwa and Legislation Department has begun working with government agencies to accelerate the enforcement of court rulings, identifying pending cases, opening enforcement files and completing the necessary legal procedures.
The Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of Judicial Rulings, set up under Decision No. 23 of 2026 issued by the head of the department, has written to government agencies, sending each a list of cases falling within its jurisdiction based on the department's records.
The review aims to establish where these cases stand and which of them require enforcement files to be opened. The committee asked agencies to examine the lists, flag the cases they believe warrant enforcement files, and supply relevant information and supporting documents so the department can take the required legal action.
Agencies were also urged to point out any further cases not included in the lists that may need enforcement proceedings before the General Directorate of Execution, and to submit the related details and documents so that all outstanding matters are properly dealt with.
Stressing the need for speed, the committee called on the authorities concerned to provide the requested information without delay, citing the importance of accelerating procedures to ensure court rulings are carried out.
According to the report, several government agencies have already started submitting lists of cases requiring enforcement files in response to the department's requests. The submissions will allow the committee to press ahead with its work and monitor implementation in coordination with the relevant authorities.
